“Babe”

Erma Darlen Allen, know as “Babe” was born on March 12, 1926 to tha late James and Rose Phelpsin Fort Des Moines Iowa.

She was Married to Harold (Bill) Allen for more than 50 years. Bill Flew with the Flying Tigers during WWII, he was recalled during the Korean Conflict. Babae became a pilot and traveled with Bill to several airbases. While Bill was serving in th Marines, Babe operated the concrete plant that poured the air strips. Bill and Babe enjoyed buying prevost classic motorhomes and re-furbised them, one was bought by actress Michelle Phillips and Sylvester Stallone bought one to add to his fleet of motorhomes. They traveled by motorhome to all parts of the United States, Bill and Babe were entreneurs in several businesses during their years together. Their last business adventure before retiring was building a motorhome park  in Wabasso Florida.

Even though they never had children of their own, they loved and cared for many nieces and nephews. Babe had a very generous and kind heart, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. One thingthat she wanted to be remembered for was her love for God, her dogs Bumper and Angel and her loyalty to family.

Babe joined her Lord and Savior on March 20, 2017 just one week after celebrating  her 91st birthday. She was preceded in death by her dear husband Bill in 2000 and her brother and sister.

Funeral services will be held on April 1, 2017 at 11:00am, Morrow Funeral Home in Jeffersonville, Ohio with burial at Grapegrove Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Funeral Home from 6:00- 8:00pm.

Don’t Weep

Don’t weep at my grave, for I am not there.

I’ve a date with butterfly to dance in the air.

I’ll be singing in the Heavens, fluttering wild and free.
