Ruth A. Knecht, 80, of Washington C.H, passed away at her residence on February 7, 2018. She was born March 28, 1937 in Highland County, Ohio to the late Edward Wright and Kathryn Elliott Wright Smith. Ruth was a graduate of Jeffersonville High School in 1955 and St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1958. Ruth leaves behind her husband of 59 years Carroll Knecht whom she married September 13, 1958. Ruth was a member of St. Colman of the Cloyne Church, a member of the Fayette County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for many years and she donated hundreds of baby afghans to the Life Pregnancy Center.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her son Stephen Knecht in 1984, brother Fred Wright and sister and brother in law Margaret (Harold) Knecht.
In addition to her husband Ruth is survived by, sons Joseph Knecht of Sabina and Daniel (Michelle) Knecht of Sylvania; daughters, Elizabeth (James) Trowbridge of Grove City, Susan (Dennis) Yun of Columbus, Mary (Chris) Bull of Lynn Haven, Florida, Deborah (Charles) McQuiniff of Washington C.H., Rebecca (Phil) Fogarty of Hilliard, Cynthia (Michael) Fraley of Washington C.H.; brother William (Bonnie) Wright of Washington C.H.; sister Jane (Fred) Coldiron of New Holland; sister-in-law Catharine Chrietzberg of Tyler TX; 21 grandchildren Amanda (Matt) LoPiccolo, Jonathan, Lauren, Nathaniel, Tyler and Zachary Bull, Ashley (Brad) Rowland, Kristin (Caleb) Uhrig, Stephen and Brice McQuiniff, Heather, Kyle, Matthew and Brooke Fogarty, Dustin (Taryn) Fraley, Jordan, Cole and Carleigh Fraley and Leah, Lindsey and Jacob Knecht, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday February 13, 2018 at 11:00AM at St. Colman of the Cloyne, Washington C.H. with Father Michael Hartge officiating. Burial will be in the St. Colman Cemetery. Friends may call at the Morrow Funeral Home, Washington C.H. on Monday February 12, 2018 from 5-8PM. A rosary Service will be held at 8:00.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Fayette County.
