Betty Jean (Coe) Hanners 83, of Washington Court House, passed away unexpectedly on Monday October 30, 2023 at the James OSU Medical Center with her loving daughters by her side. Jeanie was born May 9, 1940 to the Late Barney and Louise Brakefeild Coe in Jeffersonville. Jeanie graduated from Jeffersonville High School in 1958 and was a Cheerleader for the Basketball team, she was born into the Horse Business and it continued to be the most important joy in her life, Jeanie had a great love for sports and took pride in watching her family excel in all Sports.
Jeanie was employed by Mac Tools in Washington C.H. for over 20 years while raising her family. In later years she enjoyed watching her family race horses at tracks all over the country. She especially took pride in her four grandsons driving and winning races nightly.
She was a Excellent bowler and was on a bowling team that included her mom and they got to travel all over Ohio for Bowling Tournaments.
In addition to her parents Jeanie is preceded in death by a brother Clark Coe, beloved son Brad Hanners, grandson Andrew Smith, brother-in-law Marvin Reed and two nephews Eddie and Gary Reed.
Jeanie is survived by her children Bill (Kim Jacobs) Hanners, Kathy (Jeff) Smith and Sandy (Dean Glispie) Edelberg; sisters Ruth Reed and Ann Coe; grandchildren Ashley, Tyler, Trevor, Austin, Jordan, Luke and Mia; great grandchildren Hailey, Maevyn and Radley; special nieces and nephews Jana, Diane, Chuck, Susan (Brad), Steve (Julie), Angie and Jeff; father of her children Alva Lee Hanners.
A celebration of life will be held at the Jeffersonville Church of Christ, 83 North Main Street, Jeffersonville, Ohio 43128 at 12:00pm on Friday November 3, 2023. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the church from 10:00am until time of the service.
