Donnas Adkins

Donnas Adkins, 90 of Delaware formerly of South Solon, passed away Tuesday September 26, 2023 at her residence. Donnas was born on April 15, 1933, in Paintsville Ky to the late Wayne and Mary Lemaster Hannah.

Our mother was the strongest woman we’ve ever known. So many years as a nurse showing love and compassion to so many terminal patients, making their last days full of love, care and dignity. She was loved by so many of them. Mom was a master gardener with the ability to fill landscapes with beauty and life. We always thought it was her love pouring into those flowers that created amazing color and growth. There was nothing stronger than her love for her children. She has left an amazing gift of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. We will miss her sarcastic way of letting you know that she loves you.  There is no love like the love of your mother, and we had the best. She will forever be missed.

In addition to her parents Donnas is preceded in death by her brothers Eban, Chester, Kenneth and Weldon Hannah; and sisters Almeda “Susie” DeWeese, Juanita Fitzpatrick, Prentis and Hesterbelle and Weltha “Mick”Garringer.

Donnas is survived by her sons Randy (Judy) Scott, Greg (Laura) Scott, Gary (Carol) Scott and Brett (Robin) Dunlap; daughter Denise Dunlap; brother Stanley (Georgialia) Hannah; grandchildren Timothy (Nannon) Scott, Zachary (Lauren) Scott, Emily (Brian) McDowell, Gary (Marylia) Scott, Matt (Holly) Scott, Tony (Beth) Butcher, Wesley Dunlap and Liam Dunlap; Numerous great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at the Jeffersonville Church of Christ, 83 North Main Steet, Jeffersonville, Ohio, at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 2, 2023 with Rev. Jon Powers officiating. Burial will be in the South Solon Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the church on Monday from 11 until time of service.
