Stuart Looney, age 68, of Washington C.H. passed away on May 15, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 24, 1953 in Bucannon County, VA to the late Elmer and Juanita Smith Looney. Stuart worked at Mac Tools for several years, he retired as an Aerospace Engineer at Fortus Manufacturing and was a member of the Gathering Place Church.
In addition to his parents, Stuart is preceded in death by three brothers Donal, David and Bobby Looney, one sister Alma Gail Looney and one grandson Bryan Tarry.
Stuart is survived by his wife, his soulmate, of 48 years, Peggy Gifford Looney, two sons Nelson (Amy) Looney and James “Rich” (Karrie) Looney; one brother William “Bill” Looney; three sisters Glenna (Dave) Wilder, Jeanette Lombardi and Ilene Rowe; sister in law Mary Looney; grandchildren Jennifer (Camron) Lindsey, Chelsea (Trent) Davis, Ariane Stroud, Rachel (Mark) Mitchell, Jamie (Quentin) Miller, Robert Teets Jr., Johnathan Teets and Austinn Fore, and thirteen great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the Gathering Place Church, with Pastor John Pfeifer officiating. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 10:30am at the Greenfield Cemetery. Friends and Family may call on Wednesday at the church from 1pm - 3pm and 5pm until time of services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
